A new week approaches

A new week approaches...

3 papers down, 1 more to go...
TPSW...

Seriously? If I don't get an A for this module, I will be disappointed...

Anyways, last week we learned about culture and the cultural mandate! Feels like as if i was sitting in one of my lectures, Social Behavior Studies. The hypothesis is that, people (christians and non christians) rather choose music and films from the secular world than songs and plays that are produced from the church. I agree with that totally...I love watching films that spew vulgarities and films that discuss the human emotions. Don't get me wrong. I do not subconsciously consume these junks. When I was in SK, I chanced upon Moses and the ten commandments being played on the tv in a video store and it caught my attention having me stood there for 20mins!

what i am saying is, I think we should set on this course whereby the culture of the youth in our nation can be shaped for His glory. Having said that, being a student in Mass Comm has opened up my eyes. It becomes clearer to me in regards to my destiny and purpose i am set on achieving. I was never receptive to the idea that we are called to step into the cultural scene and change things in it. My way of life was to "stay" in church, remain a christian in church and do nothing else but serve only in church. Oh my gosh, now when i think back, ITS SO SILLY!?!

Jesus ate with the sinners and tax collectors... in modern day context, you would probably not recognise Jesus like how you would each time you walk past those christian stores with potraits of Jesus with a shiny halo behind Him...I think He will be like any other celebs. Leather Jackets? suede leather shoes? ear-rings?!!! HEY! ITS NOT THE OUTWARD LOOKS THAT CONVICTS A HEART...get that right!

Anyways, as I was saying, Its really an "eye-opener" for me. Being A mass comm student, it helps me look at the media and arts industry in a "bigger" way if you get what i mean. It changes the way i think right now. I will explain more some other time. I'm listening to "wind it up" by Gwen Stefani right now, so i cant think and write at the same time.

Listening to songs really heals the soul. Avril Lavigne's Keep holding on tells me to keep holding on despite what happened last year. It also reminds me of Lis...when i was down, she told me to hang on and be strong...almost exact phase =)

OK! so I will pen off here,
blog again soon...

I'll BRING YOU SEXYBACK....YEeeaaaaaaaa....
